LIMITES DE INSTRUMENTAÇÃO APICAL: conceitos e parâmetros sobre a patência apical e ampliação foraminal

Resumo

Os microrganismos, mais especificamente as bactérias, são os principais responsáveis pela falha do tratamento endodôntico. Dessa forma, proporcionar uma limpeza e desinfecção completa do sistema de canais radiculares é um dos maiores desafios para a endodontia. No entanto, embora seja de conhecimento científico a infecção e contaminação da região foraminal, a determinação do limite de instrumentação apical tem gerado grande polêmica para a literatura devido as incertezas dos efeitos da instrumentação além do limite convencional, com inclusão das técnicas de patência apical e ampliação foraminal. Diante do exposto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi, após efetuar uma revisão da literatura, reduzir controvérsias e proporcionar respostas para uma técnica de instrumentação segura, com maiores índices de sucesso, garantindo um tratamento endodôntico de grande eficiência, abordando sobre conceito, técnica e necessidade clínica da patência apical e ampliação foraminal.
