TOXINA BOTULÍNICA E SUA RELEVÂNCIA NA ESTÉTICA OROFACIAL: revisão de literatura

Resumo
O objetivo desse artigo é demonstrar a importância da Toxina Botulínica à Odontologia. O uso de Toxina Botulínica para fins estéticos pelos Cirurgiões-Dentistas, foi aprovado através da Resolução nº 176, em 06 de setembro de 2016. Essa admissão se justifica em razão da pele ser parte integrante da face, e consequentemente, ser uma região anatômica de atuação desse profissional. Além disso, as aplicações de toxina botulínica não são consideradas procedimentos cirúrgicos. De particular interesse para este artigo são as indicações da Toxina Botulínica à estética orofacial. A odontologia estética pressupõe um plano de tratamento minimamente invasivo, com uma abordagem holística e bem desenhado para desenvolver uma relação de confiança e cooperação entra Cirurgião-Dentista e paciente. Nessa proposta, a metodologia utilizada ou adotada foi a revisão de literatura com enfoque qualitativo. Considera-se a Resolução CFO-176/ 2016, um marco a área Odontológica, visto que é uma das especialidades que mais cresceu nos últimos tempos, e essa conquista fez com que o Cirurgião-Dentista se preocupasse com as possíveis aplicações terapêuticas e expandisse seus conhecimentos ao campo da estética.
